The Ford Bronco is a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV, predating the word SUV) made and advertised by Ford from 1966 to 1996, over five years. The first Broncos were offered in wagon, pickup, and a less popular roadster settings. The roadster version was decreased and the activity offer, which later became a model range, was added.

The Bronco was released in 1966 as a competition to the tiny four-wheel-drive small SUVs that included the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout, and it was built alone platform. A significant redesign in 1978 relocated the Bronco to a more substantial size, by using a shortened Ford F-Series vehicle chassis to contend with both similarly modified Chevy K5 Blazer, as well as the Dodge Ramcharger. The Bronco was designed under engineer Paul G. Axelrad. But the axles and brakes were used from the Ford F-100 four steering wheel drive pickup, leading axle was located by radius biceps and triceps (from the body nearby the back of the transmitting onward to the axle) and a lateral keep tabs on bar, allowing the utilization of coil springs that offered the Bronco a 34-feet (10.4 m) turning group, long steering wheel travel, and an anti-dive geometry that was ideal for snowplowing. The trunk suspension system was more regular, with leaf springs in an average Hotchkiss design. A shift-on the-fly Dana copy circumstance and locking hubs were standard, and heavy-duty suspension system was a choice.

Engine

The initial engine motor was the Ford 170 cu in (2.8 L) upright-6, altered with sturdy valve lifters, a 6-US-quart (6 l) olive oil pan, heavy-duty petrol pump, oil-bath air cleanser, and a carburetor with a float dish paid out against tilting. Styling was subordinated to ease and market, so all a glass was toned, bumpers were direct C-sections, the structure was a straightforward box-section ladder, and the essential departed and right door skins were similar aside from mounting holes.

Price

The bottom price was US$2,194, however the long option list included leading bucket seating, a back bench seats, a tachometer, and a CB radio, as well as useful items like a tow pub, an auxiliary vehicle's gas tank, a vitality take-off, a snowplow, a winch, and a posthole digger.
